Our Chancellor

Dr.N.M.Veeraiyan

Dr. N.M. Veeraiyan (b. 1947) graduated from Madras Medical College in 1970. A distinguished dental surgeon, he established a 100-bed hospital and nursing school in Erode in 1977.

Driven by an ambition to redefine education, he founded the Saveetha institutions, starting with Saveetha Dental College & Hospital in Chennai in 1988, followed by colleges for Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Engineering.

His vision for international standard education, emphasizing modern curricula and research, culminated in the formation of Saveetha University in 2005, which later expanded to include Medical, Management, and Law schools.

Dr. Veeraiyan is a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, a co-author of an award-winning Tamil book on dentistry, and the recipient of numerous accolades including the "Life Time Achievement Award" from The T.N. Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. He is admired by his community for his visionary leadership and commitment to education and human causes.
